Gilded 4 Glass Crystal Regulator with Visible Mercury Pendulum. Circa 1880

Always a popular style, this French clock has an eight-day movement striking hours and half hours on a bell. The dial ring displaying elegant roman numerals and moon hands. The open Brocot escapement a wonderful feature on the clock with delicate escape wheel teeth.

The Brocot escapement, invented in 1823 by Louis-Gabriel Brocot used in 19th century French pendulum clocks. The escapement is often revealed in a cutout on the clock's face.
